The Life and Mission of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the Quran
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the last and final messenger of Allah (SWT) to mankind. He was born in Mecca in 570 CE and received his first revelation from Allah (SWT) at the age of 40. His message of monotheism and submission to Allah (SWT) through the Quran has had a profound impact on the world, and his life and teachings continue to inspire millions of Muslims around the globe.
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in the Quran
The Quran mentions Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by name only four times, but his life and teachings are present throughout the holy book. The Quran describes him as a mercy to mankind, a guide, and a bearer of glad tidings and warnings."Say, [O Muhammad], 'If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.' Say, 'Obey Allah and the Messenger.' But if they turn away - then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers." [Al-Imran: 31-32]
"And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds." [Al-Anbiya: 107]
The Mission of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
Prophet Muhammad's (SAW) mission was to convey the message of Islam to humanity, to guide them towards the worship of One God, and to promote peace and justice among people. His message was not limited to the people of his time but was meant for all of humanity until the end of time. The Quran states:"This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion." [Al-Maida: 3]
The Prophet's (SAW) teachings on justice, compassion, and kindness towards others continue to inspire Muslims worldwide to strive for a better world, to promote peace and harmony, and to work towards the betterment of humanity.
The Character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
The Quran describes the Prophet (SAW) as an exemplar of good character, who was kind, compassionate, and merciful towards all people, regardless of their background or beliefs. His conduct in dealing with people, especially with his enemies, was always based on justice and fairness. The Quran states:"Indeed, you are of a great moral character." [Al-Qalam: 4]
"And by the mercy of Allah, you dealt with them gently. And if you had been rude [in speech] and harsh in heart, they would have disbanded from about you. So pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in the matter. And when you have decided, then rely upon Allah. Indeed, Allah loves those who rely [upon Him]." [Al-Imran: 159]
